Transport

Buses – are quite reliable, however it is difficult for foreigners to find bus stations and obtain information about schedules.

Trains – there are only three railroads in Tanzania, one between Dar-es-Salaam and Kapiri Mposhi, between Dar-es-Salaam and Kigoma and between Dar-es-Salaam and Mwanza. In Kenya there is one main line: Nairobi – Mombasa, where the train goes only on certain days.

Matatu (shuttle) – a cheap and very common manner of public transport in vans. The shuttles go between towns (mainly in the morning), as well as around bigger cities. There are not any fixed schedules, matatu leave only when all seats are sold.

Boat – I can arrange boat transportation to Lamu Old Town on Lamu Island (UNESCO World Heritage site)

Upon request I provide transportation in my own jeep. This service is also available for clients who do not purchase any other services.
